Safe first steps

1. Turn off the dishwasher and unplug it from the power source.
2. Remove the bottom rack and locate the drain filter. Unscrew and take out the filter.
3. Clean the drain filter under running water to remove any debris or clogs.
4. Check the drain hose for kinks or blockages and straighten or clear it if necessary.
5. Reassemble the filter and bottom rack, then plug the dishwasher back in and run a short cycle to test.

When to stop

• Stop if you see water leaking from the dishwasher or around the drain hose — risk of flooding.
