Safe first steps

1. Unplug the washing machine from the power outlet.
2. Locate the pump filter, usually found at the front bottom of the machine.
3. Place a shallow container or towel under the filter area to catch any water.
4. Remove the pump filter and clean it thoroughly to remove any blockages.
5. Reinstall the pump filter and plug the washing machine back into the power outlet. If the error persists, check for visible damage to the filter or arrange a service visit.

When to stop

• Stop if you see water leaking from the filter area — risk of flooding.
