Safe first steps

1. Turn off the dishwasher and unplug it from the power source.
2. Remove any dishes and the bottom spray arm to access the heating element.
3. Use a descaling solution specifically designed for dishwashers and follow the instructions on the product.
4. After descaling, reassemble the dishwasher and plug it back in. Run a short cycle to ensure the solution is flushed out.
5. If calcium buildup persists after descaling, check for visible damage to the heating element and arrange a service visit if necessary.
