Safe first steps

1. Unplug the dryer from the power outlet to ensure safety while cleaning.
2. Locate the lint filter, usually found at the front of the dryer door or on top of the appliance.
3. Remove the lint filter and clean it thoroughly under running water to remove all lint and debris.
4. Allow the lint filter to dry completely before reinserting it back into the dryer.
5. Plug the dryer back in and run a short cycle to ensure it operates correctly. If the error persists, check for blockages in the venting system.

When to stop

• Stop if you notice any unusual smells or if the dryer overheats during operation — risk of fire.
